The new machine was recently unveiled at the IFAT tradeshow in Munich, following more than 3000 hours of development and over 10 000 hours of field testing in Germany, France, Italy and Switzerland. It has proven to be a ‘highly efficient tool’ for a wide range of players, ranging from demolition to steel recycling.

The technical characteristics of Eagle 3 speak for themselves: a shorter frame, unique weight-to-performance-ratio and greater stability. Furthermore, the new series has been designed to increase the cutting force on all its models. Not least, the redesign of the mouth allows an opening that is up to 9% larger compared to previous shears.

The new series is designed to maximise the lifespan of the tool while vastly improving ease of use and minimising the need for complex and pricey maintenance procedures. Company ceo Paolo Mantovani points out that the central pin of the shear can be easily replaced directly on site, reducing down-time, and further lowering the total cost of ownership.

A total of five different shear models ranging from 2 600 kg to 15 000 kg have been launched. Two additional models will be released shortly.

‘Since we started developing our first SH-series scrap shear in Italy in the early 90s we have continuously worked on manufacturing powerful, reliable and efficient excavator attachments for all operating conditions’, he adds. ‘Our shears are used on crawler and mobile excavators, on demolition equipment, in scrap recycling yards, but also in extreme temperature environments and also in offshore and below sea level applications.’
